Panel Discussion #1
From Script to Screen: The Screenwriter’s Journey

3:30pm on Saturday, May 3rd at E-Media

This dynamic one-hour panel brings together three local screenwriters who have successfully navigated the complex and often unpredictable journey from screenplay to screen: Nathan Graham Davis (Aftermath), Wally Marzano-Lesnevich (The Problem With People), and Alex Manugian (Coherence). These panelists, each of whom have written films that have found homes in theaters and on major streaming platforms, will reflect on the creative, emotional, and professional challenges they’ve faced along the way.

The discussion will dive into both the personal and industry-related milestones and challenges faced by each writer. They’ll share firsthand accounts of navigating the business side of screenwriting—working with agents and studios, negotiating contracts, and managing the financial realities of the job—while also opening up about the emotional toll and triumphs of seeing their work realized on screen. Whether you're an aspiring writer or simply curious about the filmmaking process, this panel will offer a candid and intimate glimpse behind the curtain.

Admission to this event will be free, with a suggested donation of $15.

Panel Discussion #2
In the Frame: The Importance of the Director–Cinematographer Relationship

1:00pm on Sunday, May 4th at CitySpace

Join us for an in-person, non-screening panel discussion with Hunter Anderson, Carley Byers, and Melissa Dimetres. This conversation brings together two directors (Byers, Dimetres) and a cinematographer (Anderson) to explore how women behind the camera collaborate to shape story from page to screen. From the earliest drafts of a script to the final cut, the relationship between director and cinematographer is critical—one of trust, shared vision, and constant creative dialogue.

Together, these artists will reflect on the process of building visual language from written word, how character and theme influence their aesthetic choices, and how their collaboration pushes the boundaries of representation on screen. The panel will also explore how working as women in these roles uniquely informs their approach to storytelling—both in content and in process.

Admission to this event will be free, with a suggested donation of $15.
